Hi, I’m Kiara the photographer, horse girl, creative mind and caffeine-fuelled chaos behind KiaraG Photographics.
 

I’ve been involved in the equestrian world for over 15 years, competing in eventing and spending most of my life covered in dust, surrounded by horses and chasing the next adventure with my sidekick, Perri. Horses have always been more than just a sport to me; they’ve shaped who I am, introduced me to incredible people and given me some of my favourite memories.
 

Photography started as a hobby around six years ago when I was just a little girl running around events with my mum’s old digicam. Somehow, I was a natural from the start, which was pretty lucky considering with a digicam you got exactly one chance to nail the jumping shot before the horse had already landed and exited the frame. Somewhere between the pressure of perfect timing and the excitement of capturing the sport I loved, I completely fell in love with photography. What started as simply taking photos for fun quickly grew into a genuine passion, eventually leading me to turn KiaraG Photographics into a serious business and creative career.
 

If I’m not photographing at events, you’ll typically find me competing with by bestfriend Perri, eventing being our absolute favourite discipline. Together we’ve been slowly working our way through the heights, gaining experience and ticking off some of Australia’s best eventing events along the way. Being both a rider and photographer gives me a unique perspective when I shoot I understand the sport, the emotion behind the moments and just how much horses mean to the people who love them.
 

These days, you’ll usually find me either behind the camera at events, editing thousands of photos late at night, hanging out with Perri, or convincing myself I definitely don’t need more camera gear. I absolutely love capturing the raw, authentic side of the equestrian world whether that’s powerful competition moments, emotional milestones, beautiful portraits or the candid in-between memories that often end up meaning the most.

I’m incredibly passionate about the creative side of the equestrian world and love helping others showcase their stories, businesses and achievements in a genuine and eye-catching way.

Based in Melbourne, Victoria, I specialise in equestrian event coverage, portraits and storytelling imagery creating timeless photos that celebrate both horse and rider in a genuine, relaxed and fun way.
